Going gold

Golden Hunnington couple, Clinton and Sylvia East, were over the moon with the party organised to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

The pair, of Hollyhurst Farm, retired to Hunnington after living and working for most of their married lives in Smethwick.

They met at a dance at the town's Drill Hall, and were married at Smethwick's Old Chapel Church a couple of years later.

Sylvia, now aged 70, worked in offices including Britsh Pens, Bearwood while Clinton, now aged 69, was a wholesale butcher.

The couple have three daughters, Katrina, Carol and Cassie, who organised the family party.

Five grandchilren keep the pair busy.
