Mini ROM, maxi security
From the archive, first published Thursday 19th Apr 2001.
A new business card-sized CD ROM has been launched by police to help firms improve security.
The new innovative CD was given to businesses across the district, advising them on how to identify any areas of vulnerability as well as improve personal staff safety.
It will also link firms to the West Midlands Police website, with information about Operation Safer Streets - the long-term initiative to combat robbery.
Police constable Mick Keyte, said: "The main focus is to help organisations take an interest in the identification, planning and managing the risk to their premises, property and staff.
"This is especially relevant as employees are increasingly issued with expensive pieces of equipment."
