Terrified dog chewed through gas pipe

A pet dog terrified by fireworks exploding across Rowley Regis chewed through a gas pipe causing a major leak last night.
A 72-year-old woman living in Bellevue called Oldbury fire fighters at 9pm after her home became filled with gas.
Sub officer Andrew Dickson said: "This was a very dangerous leak, with the house and outside filled with gas.
"Fortunately we were able to locate the source fairly quickly and isolate the gas supply.
"The pensioner's dog had chewed through the flexible gas pipe after being terrified by fireworks."
Transco were called to the scene to ensure the area was safe.
