Airport `plot' is becoming clearer
From the archive, first published Thursday 20th Nov 2003.
Following the report on the front page of the Express and Star (issue of Thursday November 6) suddenly the plot becomes clearer.
Not only are the owners of Halfpenny Green seeking to expand this airport, they are trying to buy other European Airports as well.
They want to bring in training facilities for Cabin and Flight Crew and base them at Halfpenny Green. Not only will you have regular scheduled flights passing over but there will be training flights going on as well.
The report mentions other sites in the UK that they want to set up a similar type of operation as well. No name is given so it could be any small airport that they think they could expand.
Not only do they want to destroy this area of countryside they are planning to do the same somewhere else.
No one will be able to convince me now that they have the interests of this area at heart.
They are going for mega-bucks to line their own pockets and never mind any environmental damage or quality of life for the resident of this or any other area. There was no mention of this grandiose plan to anyone until now.
